"Pros: Bright Clean and Clear text/video/images Excellent Contrast Sharp Text under native resolution (1680x1050 non-HD) OSD easily navigated Manual easy to follow Easy to set up No Dead Pixels Various Inputs. Cons: Speakers - I would use them ONLY if I had no others OSD Signal Source pop-up - rather than have it pop-up in the center of the screen during boot-ups, an option to reposition it to a corner would be greatly appreciated. Overall: I had a very good run with an NEC multisync LCD1530V monitor purchased back in 2001. Through normal wear, the gradual fade in brightness moved me on to NEC s LCD22WMGX and I could not be more content. I primarily sought a monitor that would display sharp, crystal clear text, which this monitor delivers (NVIDIA geforce 7600GT). Using the DVI port, I am completely satisfied with the display of video and photo images as well. Crisp, sharp text and vivid, bright viewing under its native resolution; it has been 8 months and money well spent.

The sacrifice for these features? The monitor displays shallow blacks and colors, and its Dynamic Contrast Ratio option is more annoying than helpful. The nec's closest competitor, the better-performing $319 Dell SP2208WFP, doesn't offer as many extras but displays superior color and comes with a Webcam. The NEC makes a better choice for photographers on a budget or anyone looking for a wide variety of features, but consider other choices if superior performance is your goal. Design The most immediately striking aspect of the 22-inch NEC accusync LCD22WMGX is its minimalist design. The bezel on the left and right sides of the screen measures only 0.58 inch. "
